Major ANTHONY D. MINI

Maj. Anthony D. Mini is the commander of the 182nd Communications Flight, 182nd Airlift Wing, in Peoria, Illinois. He is responsible for leading, supervising and supporting the management of the Air Force-provisioned portion of the Department of Defense Information Networks and Enterprise Information Environment mission area to meet mission readiness and warfighting capabilities.

Maj. Mini began his military career in 2001 as an enlisted member serving as a command and control systems operator specialist, cyber systems surety craftsman, client systems craftsman and cyber systems operations craftsman. In 2004, he activated for two years in support of Operation Noble Eagle and participated in homeland security operations. He was selected for commissioning in 2010 and currently serves as a commander. Maj. Mini served as the Air National Guard Communication Field Advisory Committee chairman from 2016 to 2018. He is a life member of the National Guard Association of Illinois and the National Guard Association of the United States.

In 2019, Maj. Mini deployed overseas as the cyber operations flight commander in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. He has been activated for state active duty multiple times to provide cyber security support to the state of Illinois. He serves his community as a hockey coach and Lincoln’s Challenge Academy mentor. Prior to his current position, the major served as a cyber systems security craftsman with the 182nd Communications Flight, 182nd Airlift Wing, in Peoria, Illinois.
