Lieutenant Colonel ROBERT W. REED

Lt. Col. Robert W. Reed is the commander of the 182nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Peoria Air National Guard Base, in Peoria, Illinois. He leads the personnel responsible for supporting Peoria’s C-130 Hercules aerospace equipment sustainment and operations.

Lt. Col. Reed enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1991 and served eight years as a supply specialist upon completing initial skills training. He obtained a commission in the Air National Guard in 1999, serving as a logistics readiness officer. In 2004, he became the 182nd Aerial Port Flight commander, followed by commands in the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron in February 2016 and the 182nd Force Support Squadron in October 2016. In 2010, Lt. Col. Reed served as the requirements cell shift chief for the Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center during Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn while deployed to the Southwest Asia theater of operation.

Lt. Col. Reed has served as a professional educator for 20 years in the civilian public school system, with half that time being an educational administrator. He was selected as the full-time human resource officer with the 182nd Force Support Squadron in September 2016. Prior to his current assignment, the lieutenant colonel was the commander of the 182nd Force Support Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois.
