Major Nathan O. Schamberger

Maj. Nathan O. Schamberger is the commander of the 182nd Maintenance Operations Flight, 182nd Airlift Wing, in Peoria, Illinois. He leads a team of Airmen proficient across five Air Force specialty codes providing group-level maintenance support operations for Peoria’s fleet of C-130H3 Hercules aircraft supporting airlift and airdrop capabilities for federal and state operations.

Maj. Schamberger began his military career in 2000 by enlisting in the Illinois Air National Guard as an aerospace propulsion, jet engines and turboprop/turboshaft specialist. He deployed three times to four separate locations throughout Southwest Asia in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Maj. Schamberger commissioned as an officer in 2011 after graduating from the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science. He served as an aircraft maintenance officer for the 182nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron before being appointed as the commander of the 182nd Maintenance Operations Flight.

Maj. Schamberger received a Bachelor of Business degree in supply chain management from Western Illinois University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. Prior to his current position, the major was an aircraft maintenance officer, 182nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Peoria, Illinois.
