Chief Master Sergeant AARON L. MILLER

Chief Master Sgt. Aaron L. Miller is the senior enlisted leader with the 182nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois. He is responsible for overseeing the flight line maintenance for the fleet of C-130 Hercules aircraft assigned to the Greater Peoria Air National Guard Base.

Chief Miller began his military career in 1985 by enlisting in the Illinois Air National Guard at the 183rd Tactical Fighter Group in Springfield, Illinois, as a weapons control systems mechanic. His diverse career has brought diverse maintenance experience with various aircraft, including the F-4 Phantom, F-16 Fighting Falcon, C-130E and C-130H Hercules. He has served in various maintenance positions, including auto test station specialist, crew chief, flight chief and senior enlisted leader. In 2005, he took on the extreme tasking of designing and developing the tool storage area for the 182nd Maintenance Group. His attention to detail was recognized as best seen to date by Air Mobility Command inspectors during a Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspection.

Chief Miller has deployed multiple times in support of contingency operations, including Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and, most recently, Freedom's Sentinel in 2019, where he led 100 Airmen in the daily sortie generation effort. His efforts contributed to the completion of 2,101 sorties with over 3,260 flight hours, while maintaining a mission capable rate of 85.4 percent with the eight assigned aircraft. His efforts also contributed to the movement of over 7,845 tons of critical supplies and equipment and over 14,480 passengers. Prior to his current position, the chief master sergeant was the component maintenance flight chief enlisted manager, 182nd Maintenance Squadron, Peoria, Illinois.
