Chief Master Sergeant LYNDELL S. TAYLOR

Chief Master Sgt. Lyndell S. Taylor is the chief enlisted manager of the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois. He manages and directs personnel resource activities, establishes control procedures to meet work goals and standards, and advises or recommends actions to improve operational efficiency.

Chief Taylor enlisted in the active duty Air Force in April 1989 and was assigned to the Robert L. Thompson Strategic Hospital, Carswell Air Force Base, Texas, as a medical laboratory technician upon completion of his technical training. He served in a number of capacities, ultimately supervising the night shift laboratory. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1993 before enlisting in the Illinois Air National Guard in January 1994, where he has served in a variety of capacities and careers. He initially enlisted as a C-4 plans and programs manager, where he was responsible for the management of a number of computer assets. In 1996, he joined the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron, where he provided Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-yield Explosives (CBRNE) training and ran the Nuclear, Biological, Chemical (NBC) cell during an operational readiness inspection. In September 1999, he became a full-time firefighter with the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron fire department.

Chief Taylor was selected to serve as a first sergeant in 2012, after which he became the wing human resource advisor in 2016, where he focused on bringing human resource training to the wing. During his career, he has deployed to Germany, Iraq and stateside locations in support of Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Task Force Test One. Prior to his current position, the chief master sergeant was a human resource advisor with the 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois.
