Captain Cody A. Anderson

Capt. Cody A. Anderson is the commander of the 182nd Force Support Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois. He leads the Airmen responsible for providing manpower and personnel, services sustainment, force development, Airman and family services in support of the 182nd Airlift Wing.

Capt. Anderson enlisted in the Air Force in February 2007 and graduated from the command post apprentice course in May 2007. He spent 3.5 years on active duty stationed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and continued his military career with the Illinois Air National Guard in July 2012. In 2014, Capt. Anderson graduated from Lewis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management. He was selected as the installation deployment officer by the 187th Fighter Wing, Montgomery, Alabama, in 2015 and commissioned through the Total Force Officer Training program. In 2017, he was selected as the installation deployment officer at the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.

Capt. Anderson deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in 2019 in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Freedom’s Sentinel. He served as the fuels flight commander, leading 134 Total Force Airmen, and managed U.S. Air Forces Central Command’s largest fuels flight. In 2020, Capt. Anderson led the 182nd Airlift Wing’s longest domestic operations mission in the response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and was an instrumental part in ensuring the health and safety of Illinois residents. Prior to his current position, the captain was an operations officer with the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, Peoria, Illinois.
