Major MAJOR SAMANTHA J. NORVILLE

Maj. Samantha “Sam” J. Norville is the commander of the 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing, located in Peoria, Illinois. She leads the squadron’s seven work centers, providing comprehensive logistics support for daily installation operations and ensuring peak contingency deployment readiness.

Maj. Norville's career began in 2006 as an enlisted air transportation specialist. In 2011, she transitioned to a full-time federal technician position before being commissioned as the wing executive officer in 2017. After serving in this role until 2021, she moved to the Logistics Readiness Squadron as a logistics readiness officer, holding positions including installation deployment officer, director of operations and logistics management officer.

The major’s comprehensive logistics expertise, cultivated through her enlisted service, has been instrumental in overseeing numerous deployments, domestic operations activations and high-priority wing efforts. From 2021 to 2025, she expertly led logistics planning and execution for two large-scale readiness inspections and four major exercises, including several joint efforts with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) ally countries. Beyond logistics, Maj. Norville has served in key leadership roles on base, including Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), president of the Company Grade Officer (CGO) council, drug demand reduction program manager and wing innovation program manager. Prior to her current position, the major was the director of operations, 182nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Peoria, Illinois.
