Schneider receives a Chief's coin

Senior Master Sgt. Steve Schneider receives a Chief’s coin from Command Chief Master Sgt. Steve Eakle for his participation in the annual 182nd Airlift Wing bowling tournament. This was the 25th year for the tournament.

Schnieder has been coordinating the event for the last five years, but assisted retired Master Sgt. Karl Cooper for the preceding 15 years. He enjoys coordinating the tournament because it gives him a chance to meet and see people from all the squadrons on base. A causal bowler himself, he only bowls occasionally and doesn’t belong to any leagues.

He feels the tournament is a success because “the bowlers in the tournament do a great job of watching out for each other, and has always been a fun event.” This year the tournament had 215 bowlers and occupied 43 lanes at Landmark Lanes in Peoria.
