PEORIA, Ill. --
This month we focus on achievements by African Americans and their central role in U.S. History. In January we focused on the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his extraordinary leadership.
This month we highlight the 54th Regiment, Massachusetts Voluntary Infantry Regiment unit made up of African Americans that was active during the American Civil War (1861–1865). They were known for their great courage and heroism (Britannica, 2017).
I challenge you all to start dialog with other Airmen this RSD, see who’s in need of a mentor and lead them to our 182nd Wing SharePoint mentoring page. HRA will conduct a mentoring briefing in your work area upon request.
