The Little P-34 That Could

Mr. Bob Sneed, an Illinois Department of Military Affairs firefighter, prepares to combat a kerosene-based JP-8 jet fuel fire at the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria, Ill., May 13, 2013. He and firefighters from the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron tested the capabilities of their P-34 Rapid Intervention Vehicle during a controlled burn exercise using ultra-high pressure water dispersal technology. According to the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency, the P-34 increases water effectiveness by up to 350 percent as compared to conventional firefighting vehicles in the Air Force’s fleet.
