182nd firefighters act in aircraft crash exercise

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Brandon Johnson (left) and Airman Conner Pardieck, both firefighters with the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron, triage a simulated aircraft crash victim during a mass-casualty exercise in Peoria, Ill., April 12, 2014. An Illinois Air National Guard C-130 Hercules was used to imitate an aircraft crash with 50 casualties on a Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport runway. The airport hosted the tri-annual exercise to test its emergency protocols. Several emergency-response agencies, including the 182nd Civil Engineer Squadron fire department, also participated in the exercise to practice their procedures and training.
